Has anyone else had problems maintaining their iron levels post surgery??? I have had to have 3 IV infusions of iron and just can't seem to maintain despite supplements.... do I have any company out there?? If so, how long did it last??? Is this a lifetime thing?? B

This is not uncommon...not sure if it becomes a lifetime/chronic issue or not...but I know you can get more info on the OSSG-gone_wrong group on yahoogroups.com... Nancy

I have a chronically low iron problem and take daily supplements which keep my level normal. I was not very good at sticking to my vitamins in the beginning and I became low in calcium, iron and b-12. B-12 is still an issue for me as I tend to get acne after the shots....never ever had trouble with acne before. Back to the iron, I buy the cheap supplement and its been a breeze. Good luck... I take iron with intrinsic factor in it and the only time I have ever had a problem with low iron was when I had to have a colonoscopy last spring and I was made to go off my iron supplements for 2 weeks. THe iron I take is called Chromagen and I swear by it. It is prescription, but worth the money.
