Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia

Please post if you or anyone you know of have this condition post-op. Prior to my lap rny I was not anemic. My surgeon says he hasn't had any other patients with this problem. Coincedence? I understand the malabsorbtion issues that can cause iron deficiency anemia, but my iron is fine. For some reason my immune system wants to destroy it's own red blood cells before they mature. The Hemotologist has checked for the "usual suspect" conditions that cause this reaction and has (thank the Lord) not found any.
