Hi, I was sent to this board by someone. I basically would like to know if there is anyone doing any procedures for an enlarged stoma. I can eat huge amounts and it is as if I never had the gastric bypass. My surgeon has tried to see if anyone was doing the scarring procedure, where they make the stoma smaller using this procedure. I live in Western MA. I will travel within reason. PLEASE, PLEASE let me know if you know of anyone doing this correction. The lap band is out as i am just under the criteria. I am by no means just overweight. I am on the upper end, bordering on obesity for my height and gaining daily... thanks, marie

Generally when it's being used to correct a mechanical problem with the RNY, the criteria isn't the same as someone initially looking for WLS... Nancy 394/275/180

Thanks for the reply! You would think that was the case, however, the only surgeon doing the lap band here said not even out of pocket... I have gained 16 pounds but keep trying to do my best. I am going to call the MI docs and see if they can send me to someone out here... That was the other reply I received. Thanks for all the help!!! Marie

There are at least two doctors in Michigan performing this procedure. I know that is a long way to travel, but you may want to contact their office and find out if they can refer you to someone locally. Dr. Baker in Grand Rapids and Dr. Marshall in the metro Detroit area are both performing it. Good luck.
