Frustration with Pain Clinic

I am so frustrated with my pain clinic. I will not go into all the details leading up to the pain clinic(that is in my profile). I had an appt on May 26th. They started me on Fentanyl patch and Percocet as needed for breakthrough pain. Well they told me to give the patch a week to see if it would work. Well I gave it almost two and it is not working. So I called the clinic and the first message they returned to me was completely off talking about insurance. So I figured they didn't understand me when I told them it was not covering the pain as they said if the medication is not covered by insurance..... So I called back and left another message about the pain. I got a return call saying that I have to give the patch over a month and I shouldn't have an appt this month so to call at the month if it still isn't working then to call and they can do a discussion on the phone. That does NOT help me now. I was in tears for over two hours the other night because the pain was so bad and I took the allowed pain meds so I couldn't take anything else that day (I had to sign a pain contract saying I won't get pain meds from anywhere else and that I will only take the amt allowed for that day). So I called them back again and because I can't take calls while I am at work, I gave them permission to talk to my mother and my mom had my list of questions. Well they never called back. I have an appt for thursday although according to the nurse I shouldn't have one this month but when I say the doctor she said one month and this will be three weeks because she didn't have any appts till July available. I am so frustrated with this. Just had to vent. Thanks Alannah

They don't know where the pain is from. They think it is from the inability for my intestines to move food along and the food that is sitting in there is causing pain. My feeding tube is also giving alot of pain and they don't know why. Alannah

I have a tube because I cannot eat much and also I have problems with throwing up protein. I only take in 900 calories on my own and I dropped to 150lbs at 5'11. I got very malnourished and the tube helped to correct that as well as give me nutrients now. I have chronic nausea really bad and so some days I can eat okay and somedays I can barely eat at all. I am stable at 175lbs now and my doctors do not want me to lose weight but rather maintain this weight. As for regreting the surgery the answer is yes and no. Here's Why. My career (once I am out of school) is to train horses and run a boarding facility. So if I were to have kept the weight I would not be able to ride a large number of horses because they would not be able to support my weight. Also I had arthritis in my knees and having the weight off of them helps to make it easier to do the things I want. No because it has caused a whole different set of problems. I cannot eat much, I have chronic pain and nausea. I have put so much stress on my family. So as you can see I have reasons for both. I hope that answers your questions. I hope you are doing fine.
