Hi Julez, I read the complication message board just to discourage myself from getting the surgery. It usually works. I am writing you cuz i have also noticed not to many people answer or respond to this board. I am sorry that i have no idea why this would happen to you. sounds neurological to me. Good Luck, Linda

I do not have that problem, and it all the research I have read, I have never heard of that. Have you been getting all your proteins and water?

Thank you for responding... I have been drinking all my water & pretty much getting in my protein daily. I have an appt. in 2 weeks, I guess I will ask my Doctor about it... Thank you...

I would definitely discuss this with your doctor. It does not sound at all connected with WLS.

Hello, Yes, I have had this and it is either you are low in Potassium or B12. If you are taking these, you may not be absorbing them. Peace

Hey check potassum. I spent from dec.6 04 to feb 16,2005 in hospital and rehab, and out patient rehab till the end of march. after my gallbladder surgery I noticed numbness in my legs and feet ,arms ,hands pretty much everywhere. I had this somewhat b4 gall bladder surgery so i was llike its nothing.....well b4 gall bladder surgery i had been in and out of the ER 10-12 different times. while there i was on fluid and potassum and taking potassum at home. it got so low i couldnt hardly see clear and couldnt feel anything below my mouth. it shut down my nerves and then attacked my muscles...i lost all my muscles in my arms and legs.i had to rebuild them and learn to basically walk, and even learn to get up when i would sit...i was in a wheel chair for 6 weeks and couldnt walk. also flound out that i had severe peryphial neuropathy(sp) then they said i had something called gillian breea syndrome and it was just a crazy few months... But just wanted you to know some of the risk i had that started with a low potassum. Hope you get better. as for me im walking , slow but anythings better than rolling in a chair ya know. let me know what ya find out! God bless Karen

Dear Julez, PLEASE go to www.vitalady.come...PLEASE????? All of you that have this problem are in SEVERE malnutrition. You are NOT getting the vitamins you need. IF you do not start taking the vitamins and protein shakes like you need you will die. It is a fact. Its not to scare you but its just simply rediculous that these docs dont tell us this crap when we get this surgery. I waited a year not knowing what I know now from Michelle from Vitalady.com and I started having so much numb problems. PLEASE PLEASE go to that website... call their number and they will tell you what vites and how many a day you need to take. TRUST me your body, health and family will thank you. PLEASE feel free to email me at [email protected] God bless you , Heather
