Am I eating to much?
I would tend to think that everyone is different, so it may not be a problem. Also, what is a lot to you. I am 23 days out and I can eat 6 crackers with cheese before I feel full. I don't know if that is a lot, but it is more than I thought I would be at this point. Have you contacted your nutritionist or dietician?
Crispy, crunchy foods are very easy for WLS patients to eat. However, they have a major down side:
They can cause you to defeat the surgery you took (literally) great pains to go through. How?
Most crispy and crunchy foods are refined carbohydrates with high amounts of fat, like cookies, crackers, and all kinds of chips which are usually fried. Others, like nuts, are high in protein, but are also high in fat. Calories can also run high in these foods, and most of them can be fat calories.
Take great care in the amount of these items you consume. You can easily out-eat your surgery with them.
Always check the serving size and never go beyond it. Note the calorie and fat content and total sugar and total carbohydrate content. KNOW what and how much of it you are putting in your mouth.
Try to choose pretzels over chips, but always watch your portion size and frequency of consumption of anything in this category of food.
