scar tissue

I am 11 months post-op and since about 6 months post-op I have noticed some lumpy areas around my belly button and my incisional scar. At my 6 month check-up, my surgeaon said it was not a hernia but a bunch of scar tissue that will probably have to be surgically removed. As the months have gone by, the areas is getting worse (more noticeable) and is sore because it's exactly where my pants sit on my waist. Anyone else experience this? If so, did you have the scar tissue removed? What was the surgery like and what about the recovery time? Thanks!

I haven't had WLS but I have had my tubes tied, a hysterectomy, a bladder and bowel repair followed by abscess removal (a complication of the bladder and bowel repair). So, I'm no stranger to surgery. After the abscess removal which was my last surgery I noticed some pulling sensations and pain in my right side near my incision. I had a cat scan but there was nothing there. My doctor said it was scar tissue built up and if it continued to bother me, he'd have to surgically remove it. It's been a year and a half since this last surgery and I have no more pain or pulling sensations. It's up to you of course, I'm sure you don't want to go under the knife again but I think it might just go away with time. Good luck. Lynda D.

Hey Tracey, thanks for responding but right after I wrote that, the pain just WENT AWAY !!!! GO FIGURE The CT scan showed nothing I couldn't believe what I was hearing from the Doc I know it sounds strange but maybe for me it was just a gas pocket getting stuck??? I haven't had any pain for wks now, I go & see my surgeon on Thurs 6-30 just for the usual followup, but I will say the PAIN was HORRIBLE Deb
