abnormal liver function

I am one year post op. With each blood test, 3 month, 6 month and now 1 year, my liver functioning has gotten worse. My SGOT went from 29 to 46 (normal range is 0-41) and my SGPT went from 57 to 94 (normal range is 0-65). Anyone have this problem or solution? Thanks.

Hi Tina, My name is Teri. I am 23 months post op. I am having a problem with my liver as well. I'm sorry that I don't have any solutions to offer you. I am diabetic and have a hypothyroid and hypopituitary and had problems with elevated liver enzymes since before the WLS. My doctors thought it was due to a fatty liver and that my levels would stablize after the surgery. They did for a while but now my enzyme levels are even more elevated and my doctor doesn't know why. I have to go to a specialist at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit to have more tests run.

My liver enzymes were in the 170's. As quickly as they increased, they have now returned to near normal (now 68). Nobody can explain it. Dr. Carlin was my doc at Henry Ford Hospital.
