Hey.. I had gastric bypass 6 weeks ago & have not felt myself since. It's soooo hard to eat & get in all my protein. I either have nausea, pain/discomfort,burning, or just no engery. I vomited maybe 6 times in 6 weeks. I went for post-op check up & she said I might need an UGI to check for gastric reflux among other things & to increase my prilosec. Is my body just trying to get use to having a pouch? I am always aware of my pouch....I long for my old 'stomach'! Is all this normal??? If it is I'll just bite the bullet & take one day at a time!!!!

Hi Everyone, I'm feeling much better...My Prilosec was increased to twice a day. I also realized I wasn't waiting the proper time between food & liquids. BUT the best healer was TIME. I'm getting in my protein drinks & more food....which means I have more energy! Thank goodness.......now my next concern "I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY HAIR"...anyone with suggestions??!! Also is it okay I'm still drinking protein drinks(major intake of protein is liquid..I am 8 1/2 wks post op)THANKS!!! Cheryl Angie....talk to your doctor...when were you done? As you can read above, that was my experience...it WILL get better...I really didn't think so...but it did! Hang in there. Keep me posted.

on the hair subject i cant say enough wonderful things about NIOXIN. I am preop, but have had hair issues do to severe thyroid issues, and when I gave it the time I needed (a full year) I saw SUCH a major difference. It hold onto the hair you have so you do not lose more, and it opens up your folicles to encourage new hair. Now at the time i used the shampoo, conditioner (which feeels GREAAATT) the serum and the daily vitamin. I intend to start using this stuff again real soon here, for I want a good couple of months before surgery of using it, then continue for as long as i can afford it. Its not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either. I need to look into if we can take the vitamin or not, but its not a MUST to make things better, it just helps that much more. good luck, I too am scared of the hair loss, i do not want to lose it.
