I find myself being worried about every little thing. Is this suppose to happen or is this a complication from the surgery. Well I came home from the hospital on Tuesday and since then for a few days my outer right thigh and were my one incision is feels numb. Is this something that happens, or is it still the morphine and anethesia still in my body or my body adjusting to the surgery. I see my surgeon on Wednesday so I can ask him about this. Then I worry becuase I am not able to eat and drink all that is required and I know that I am only a week out from having surgery and I know that it's a matter of my body adjusting. But I am scared and I just want to know if anyone else had this happen to them. Thank you

Hi Kimberely, I think most of us worry about everything when we come home. I am that type, I worry about everything. I would ask the doctor about the pain that you are having, (the numbness). Not everyone is able to drink everything that is required. Not to worry, it will all come in time. What I suggest is that you relax and take things one day at a time, worrying is not going to help. Kimberly, I know how you feel, and I think everyone else does, too. We all worry! I think it's very natural. We all want this to work out so badly and we're so afraid of every little thing we do. Don't feel bad. I think your concerns are normal. You just want to make sure you're doing your best. As far as your eating is concerned, I, too, had a lot of problems with eating and drinking. I'm now 2 months post-op, and I'm still having problems adjusting, especially to soft solids. I still do best with soups. I'm also still having tremendous difficulty getting down my protein shakes. There's absolutely no way I can get down as much as they tell me to. All I do is take it one day at a time and try to do the very best I can. Just hang in there and try not to get discouraged. Try everyday to do your very best and know that things will happen the way they're supposed to. Best of luck to you! Gracie Peters

Hi I am 2-months post op and am still having a lot of problems with eating. I did have a stricture, which was taken care of last Friday, but now I have to start all over with the diet because I had it for too long. Have you tried to put protein powder in various different foods such as, pudding, instant breakfast, cream of wheat etc. that kind of helps to get more down. I guess it is true you have to take 1-day at a time and try our best. I have lost 65 pds in 2-months, but I could not eat for almost 6-weeks. Take Care Cheryl

Kimberly, I am still pre-op, but wanted to respond to your numbness issue. After my first c-section, I had the exact numbess you are talking about. It ran down the outer - almost more of the top of my thigh - all the way to my knee. It drove me NUTS! It lasted for at least 6 months, but within time went away. The slightest coldness touching it, (ex...kitchen counter knobs) would sometimes bring me to my knees. It is a type of neuropathy, which is just basically nerve damage. It is most likely trauma related. (surgery) I would definately mention it to your doctor, and be aware of it going on anywhere else in your body - or changes in the way it feels, but don't worry about it too much. It will most likely heal itself. Hang in there! HUGS Kimberly in Mississippi
