Weight Loss
I had gastric bypass surgery 8 weeks ago. During my first month I lost 40 lbs. During the second month I've only lost 4 lbs. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not over-eating, and I'm exercising a couple hours a day. I asked the nurse about it and she said perhaps my body has gone into a starvation mode since I'm expending more energy than I'm taking in. It seems, however, that my body has got to let go of the weight. I'm losing inches, but not pounds. I'm feeling like such a failure! Does anyone have any suggestions?
Take it from me you are doing fine. I've only lost 40 lbs. total and I am over 4 mths. post op. You have a larger loss the first month and a lot of people report the 2nd or 3rd month is much less and that is normal. Your body is trying to catch up with all the new things going on plus if you are losing inches it will show up on the scale eventually. It sounds like everything is going fine.
Don't feel like a failure - you are not!
