Gallbladder problems - only 1 month out!`

I had my surgery on 2/18/05 and almost a week ago I started having pains on my right side (actually from about the middle of my stomache around to my back under my right ribs). After discussing this with a nurse in my surgeon's office, I was told it was probably my gallbladder, but that is INCREDIBLY odd since it's so soon after surgery and the ultrasound done right before surgery came out fine. I have 3 questions...(1) has anyone had a hydascan and if so, what exactly is it that they will do to me? I'm scheduled for 3/22. and (2) has anyone experienced this so soon after surgery? I knew it was a possibility...strong possibility....but at like 4-7 months out. and finally (3) does gallbladder problems cause NOTHING to stay down? I can tolerate liquids and protein shakes (although I still get some mild "after eating" pain with them). However, meat and other foods (I'm only supposed to have meat, dairy products and vegis right now) make a quick re-entrance. Of course, I still seem to get enough through somehow for the hour-and-a-half after cramps to come through just fine. I appreciate any support I can get on this. I'm rather "freaking out" right now. My RNY was the only surgery I've ever had, and I am NOT anxious to go back under the knife again... Thanks, Jan D.

Hi Jan, I can relate to the pain, although I had a gallbladder attack before my RNY. I got really bad pains and food seemed to enhance it. My doctor made sure he took it out before I had my RNY. Christie
