Is there any kind of timeline or milestones that a person can follow to see when they are semi out of the woods for certain complications?? ( like blood clots, leaks....)

I had a leak. It showed up after 1 ½ weeks. I started feeling very tired and slept the whole day. I took my temp all day. It was around 99.2 to 99.6. As soon as it hit 100 I called my surgeon. He sent me to Hospital. I was put on Antibiotics and was in the Hospital for an additional days. So the best thing to do is call your surgeon if you get and fever. As for Blood Clots, I think the first two weeks are when most happen. Althoug, they can happen at any time in any person. Make sure you don't sit or stand in the same position for a long time. Just be sure to get up and walk around a few times a day. If you start to feel heat or pain in your leg call your surgeon. NO lifting, pushing, or pulling over 5 lbs. No swimming, hot tubs, tanning booth, strenuous exercise for the first 6 weeks. This is to prevent hernia. Walking is recommended Liz
