I saw Dr. Anthone this morning. He's really nice and I liked him a lot. I've had stomach problems/ulcers for 30 some years. The acid reflux is part of the reason the surgeon recommended bypass. Now I have ulcers just inside the intestine from the pouch and I can't get them to heal. Dr.Anthone says this is a complication and I can either live with them or get a reversal. Now my problem is this, I could do a reversal and gain all the weight back and STILL have the ulcers. I am disabled and can't walk or move very well, so the weight WILL come back. I don't understand why we can't figure out why I'm getting ulcers to begin with! Anybody have any ideas which way I can look for help now?

Hi, I have ulcers, now, too since surgery and can empathize. (I had lap. RNY) This really sucks. I'm having quite a bit of nausea, too and have been hospitalized for dehydration because I can't keep food or water down. It appears the ulcers are to blame because nothing else is coming up as a problem. I guess this is a decision you are gonna need a lot of help with. I would think they would have you consult the dietician and pscyh. you saw for pre-op to help you make the best decision for your health. Don't put any less effort into this decision than you did for having the surgery to begin with. These ulcers are no joke to deal with. I know what I'm feeling like and seriously would consider reversing my surgery if I don't get any better soon. I've lost 50 lbs in the last 5 weeks. That's just too fast. I don't have the same limitations that you do, but again, I can truly empathize because I know how sick I'm feeling all the time. Good luck and God Bless you Genny

Hi Nut I'm not sure if you said you were taking any meds for your ulcers. Are you? Prevacid, nexium etc. It seems there must be something else other than reversal, maybe a second opinion? Just thinking about everything you have gone through, and I'm hoping they find something to help. FYI I have heard the vinegar is EXTREMELY benificial for ulcers. Do a search on yahoo maybe there will be something interesting there. The thought is ulcers are really caused by not enough acid. I know this sounds odd, but it might be worth looking into. Good luck Cherylynn
