I apologize up front for the long post- I thought I might have luck with this question out here on the complications Board. My Pouch isn't stretching, But my "Pooch" is! I have a large "hernia" sort of- It's a layer of grafted skin with no muscle behind it. ( ?? see profile.) I'm in an abdominal binder pretty much all the time. But, every time I take it off, to sleep and shower and such, My "insides" run out into their "Annex." Bit by Bit it is stretching. At first it looked like a Giant Baby "Crowning" out Of the center of my tummy. About 14"x12". Now it has stretched to about 18"x 14" and it hangs down And protrudes about 8" out from my body. It "Pooches" Out. Yes? I've had to buy a new abdominal binder about every two months As they wear out even when washing them on delicate in Woolite. And I've gone from XXXL to XXL to XL now to Large. The problem is that the local pharmacy, the good one next to the hospital That carries the "difficult to find" items, Doesn't have one, and can't find to order one that Is wide enough to cover my now expanded "pooch." The kind I need is like a super large band of elastic With "Stays" or ribs, running up and down the vertical. I think it's made out of Power Knit or a "girdle fabric." The question is this- Anyone out there know where one could find an abdominal binder out on the web? Maybe someone who's just done a tummy tuck? I've searched myself silly, And I just had the random thought that perhaps someone else has Been in this same dilemma. It is a shot in the dark, But any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm even looking in to having one made. Any Seamstresses out there with ideas? Thanks. Best Wishes- Dx

I have the same hernia you do...and I found using a waistnipper found at jcpenney.com does the trick. I just wear it higher up than intended. It's exactly as you describe with boning and a hook-and-eye closure down the front.

Are you planning on having hernia surgery. I'm only 6 weeks post-op for lap-band surgery and my doctor wants me to lose weight before he fixes mine. In the meantime I look like I'm about 7 months pregnant. I'm sure the people at work wonder if that "baby" is every going to come...lol
