Drain issue

I just had my drain removed on thursday. My surgeon said that it should close by itself in about 5 days. In the two days since it's been removed I've had quite a bit of drainage and it has a faint odor to it. Do you think I should be concerned or should I give it the 5 days before I contact my doctor back? I dont know if this is normal or if it's something unusual.

Mine drained for a while after, just make sure it stays covered and doesn't get an infection.
