hematoma?

I just went Monday to get my staples out and my dr told me I had a good size hematoma. He pushed on it so hard to make sure that it wasn't a hernia but now it is Thursday and I still hurt really bad and before my Dr.'s appt I didn't hurt at all. Has anyone had this problem before and is there any tricks to make it stop hurting

You should followup with your doctor. Mild hematomas could feel like a "bruise" but significant pain should be discussed with your dr. RK

I actually had one from my back surgery 2 years ago. I remember it well because it was so uncomfortable. I remember it being about 2 months before mine had went away. At the time I remember the doctor telling me not to worry unless the pain was extreme or I began to run a fever. I kept applying heat to mine and that would help sometimes but other than that there was nothing that would dull the pain. Hope you feel better soon I know those things are very uncomfortable.
