Concern with Surgery coming up

Hi all. I am a 39 year old Male from Michigan working in Law enforcement. I have been in need of this Surgery due to a severly bad lower back which has already had one operation on it. My quedstion is has anyone had this done R-N-Y type Surgery with a bad back and found it has helped them out? Thank you Ed

Hello Edward, I have back problems, had surgery in Sept. my back feels better but not 100%. I have only lost half the weight I need to lose so maybe when the rest comes off it will help more. I can walk farther now, and I can exercise longer without the problems from my back. I hope that helps answer your question. Evelyn

Hello Edward, may I suggest that if you do have w.l.s. have a nurse place a rolled up blanket under your lower back during the surgery so you do not awake to more lower back pain, I have 3 herniated disks and I can tell you from experience and 3 prior opperations that it helps, God Bless!

Mary, I am so thankful to God that I was reading these post tonight...I have been very concerned about how I was going to handle the pain in my back when I have my surgery....I haven't got a date yet...but I can't stand the pain from laying on my back...I went and had a MRI done on my back and when it was finished I was in so much pain that the x-ray technican had to help me up and I was crying like a baby...So thanks for the info..I hadn't thought of that but I sure am glad I saw it here...I think God led me here ...He knows what we need before we ask..Sharon

Hi Ed, I'm fixing to find out. I have the same problem with my back. I'm scheduled for 4/28/04. I have degeneretive disk disease in my back. I will let you know how it goes. When is your surgery?
