Bezoar (post-op 8 yrs)

I just found out I have a bezoar. Has anyone else out there had one? I am taking meat tenderizer with water, drinking Coca-Cola and on a clear liquid diet (per Dr's orders). I was in the hospital all night with major pain, throwing up like 15 times (eventually it got to where I drank a sip of water and thew up hours-old food!). I had an endoscopy where they discovered it wasn't "esophageal spasms" or "nausea due to vertigo." Yes, the ER doc thought it was spasms and the GI guy thought it was nausea due to vertigo. The whole time I was telling them this happened after I ate and it felt like there was something STUCK in there. I wonder if they felt bad after they found the bezoar. I sure would have. I am glad I can listen to my body and didn't accept "spasms" or "vertigo" as answers. 

Anyway, does anyone have any wisdom about bezoars? I am getting anxious about the thought of surgery. I have until Friday for this thing to either go down or come up! Right now it's stuck in my esophagus and moves down periodically. I am terrified! :(  Also, I find it ironic that I FINALLY weaned myself off all sodas (for over a year now) and here I am drinking them at will, per doctor's orders. It doesn't even taste good!
