Chest Discomfort

So in the 3 years since my RNY I've had 4 follow up surgeries. Last October I had my GB out and a small bowel plycation. Everything has been going wonderfully until recently..

So I'm sure many of us have experience the discomfort that comes with eating to fast or eating to much.. That "brick" in the chest feeling. Well as of the last few weeks I'm having discomfort similar to that a lot. It doesn't even have to be with eating, just swallowing I feel like there is SOMETHING in my chest... it happens with drinking and even just taking the first bite of food. I tough it out and finish my food or drink, but sometimes it results in subsquent pain in the abdomen. Has anyone had anything like this before?? Probably not. I'm not trying to rush out and call my surgeron because frankly I'm tired of being the guy with all the problems. So I figured I'd ask here.

Anyway having had an ulcer before, this does NOT feel like that. The ulcer pain was a burning sensation with eating or drinking. This is not burning this is pain like something is BLOCKED. But I'm not vomiting anything, food goes down and stays down. It just feels like something is stuck

I had that feeling exactly and I had a leak in my sleeve... I know it may be different because you are a RNY patient... but I guess I wouldn't mess around with any type of chest pain. I would call and ask right away. Be the guy with all the problems! THat's what you pay them for

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Did you ever get this resolved?  I am going through the same issue now and wanted to know what your status was.  I have a band over bypass and am having some issues.

BTW, your surgeon Dr. Irgau, took out my GB at Christiana Hospital.  Dr. Wynn has done several surgeries on me as well after my RNY, but had my RNY done in up state NY and B.O.B in Mexico.  I do attend the support groups at Christiana since I live in DE.
