VSG after stomach stapling reversal

 
Hi, I just got my surgery date for Jan 18, 2012. I'm scared now because I have had two previous stomach stapling and a reversal in 2008. the surgeon told me that my risks are higher for staple line leaking and bleeding...like 10-15%!!!! I'm wondering if anyone else here has had previous stomach stapling reversed and then had the VSG. Am I worrying too much?

you have every right to worry!  but remember, if the leak rate is that high the doctors will be watching you closely and you must be vigilant with your symptoms if they arise.  of course everything could go smoothly and you will be very happy with your procedure.  i'm sorry i haven't had your procedure just thought i'd give you a little support.  good luck and i hope all goes well for you.  take care of yourself and think positive no matter what happens!
