I'am in the process of having wls,and still unsure of which one to have at this point. I thought I wanted to have the RnY but I've read several stories of people having a seizure disorder years after their surgery. It is very scary and I just wanted to know if anyone has or knows anyone who has had this? Thanks.

I like melting Mamma, but there are a lot of things that could have caused her seuzure disorder.  Take that story for what it is worth.

Thanks for replying. I noticed that you are several years out from your RnY. How are you doing? I'am still steering in that direction, but have B12 and iron deficient anemia that I have had for awhile so I'm not sure if it's safe for me. Also looking into the sleeve if insurance covers it.

Other than bile reflux from gall bladder surgery I had a year ago, I have done great.

here is an interesting study you might want to check out before you make a decision to have wls.
either way I hope the best for you

developing seizure disorders IS a complication of the rny. I never had seizures until my rny.
happily i had my surgery reversed 2.5 years ago  and even the daily dizziness went away.
now I see the rational in creating a disease to cure another disease.
if i had the chance to do it over again. i would have NEVER had wls

I also started having seizures after surgery I guess about 6 years out. I had my surgery when I was 16 yrs old. I am 33 now and just had a reversal about 1 month ago. I developed an ulcer that was causing obstruction below my stomach and couldnt get anything down so my surgeon  (Not my bariatric surgeon because he is retired) decided to do a full reversal. I am really happy that he did. I was so malnourished and have been feeling really bad for about 5 years or so. Currently since I was on liquids for almost 2 months I am at 130 lbs. Looking for a goal weight of around 165.
