I have a call into my surgeon.... but just curious what are symptoms of gall stones?  was told I have gall sludge which may eventually turn into gall stones.... but now I am having upper abdominal pain, almost right in the center... sort of like a slight burning/soreness and also noticed alot of gurggling noises as well at the time (seems worse after eating?).... was also told I have IBS after having a colonoscopy and that coming back normal.

Just had my GB out about a week ago so the pain is fresh in my brain. Mine was sharp pain under my right rib cage but my whole stomach felt bloated and tender. Also lots of nausea. Good luck!

While gall bladder is the most likely problem It may or may not be gall stones.  I just had (2 days ago) surgery to fix an internal hernia (huge) in the messentary (sic) area that caused pain and bowel obstructions.  I am 7.5 years post RNY.  The pain was quite severe(during attacks) and in the middle of the abdomen above the belly button

Please have them check for this also.  I had one friend die from this "hernia" after 5 years and another friend almost die.  This is a life threatening long term complication...and cannot be detected easily with catscans (I had 5 looking for it), an  mri, or xrays.

Hugs and best wishes for an accurate diagnosis and treatment

How do they check for this kind of hernia/bowel obstruction?  I just had a colonoscopy done and that came back normal- wouldnt a colonoscopy show any bowel obstruction?  Also I am having BM's regularly.... thanks for the info.  I experience the pain after eating (which now that I have cut out dairy has become better) or when I am constipated, but the pain is more in the lower left abdomen.  So they have diagnosed me with IBS according to my symptoms.  I am scheduled for a hyda scan and ultrasound to check the gallbladder also...

An impaction is being full of **** an obstruction is a twisted or kinked bowel, not at all the same.  Obstruction is life threatening, can cause death.  Impaction needs a colonic or enema.  colonoscopy will not reveal kinked small intestine as it only checks part of large intestine.

Google and do some reading and talk to your doctor and surgeon.
