When do you think you will try real food.
kacee,
I had plication on July 15th in mexico. I had lasagna on week 3 I think, and by the end of week 4 I was having chicken and steak.
I still have a protein shake occasionally.
I would try some soft protein/type foods....
I made a bunch of ground beef/ricotta cheese bakes and those were easy on my stomach. Also got a bunch of canned soups and just blended away....
As gross as it may sound, I made some homemade chicken soup, used the chicken, veggies and stock in the blender and made a sort of cream of chicken...at about 10-12 days I lived on soups.....
Check out my blog...I log a couple of times a week what I'm doing and feeling and every friday I weigh. Every 4 weeks I upload pictures. It may help you or give you some ideas. http://mission-no-fat.blogspot.com/
I didn't eat tuna.....not my favorite thing in the world...but OMG this weekend I made some crab muffins with ricotta and canned crab...and they hit the spot....here's the recipe....I get a lot of my recipes from egg face's website....http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2010/09/good- stuff.html I used muffin tin with cupcake paper...so it made 10 cupcakes....

I just had 11/2 boiled devil eggs and so far it seems ok. I would love some meat but am scared. Yesterday I cooked some chicken and blended it fine in the blender but never ate it. Did not taste like chicken. Tasted like mush. I dont know if it is the taste or the mush consistancy that gags me. You know the feeling you get when you eat the same thing over and over again for days. Even the thought of it makes you gag. Thanks for your help
Yup I totally know.....ground beef was easy for me....if you don't want to go for ground beef yet, try making the famous ricotta bake...it really is good and it is easy to make and easy on your tummy. I discovered click shakes....they taste sort of like coffee frap's from starbucks....check them out...www.drinkclick.com I ordered the samples first to try, and once I knew I liked them I ordered a tub from amazon (the cheapest I found). I mix with water and ice and use as a treat.
I also don't stick to all protein. I eat noodles, rice and potatoes, on occasion. I track my food on www.livestrong.com/myplate and it gives me a calorie and carb/protein intake. I keep my calories around 800/day and try to stay below 80gr. of carbs...
it'll get better, the first weeks are tough because you are sore, and also you are figuring out how much to eat and what to eat, etc....

Hi, I am scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Aceves in November out in Mexico. Since is this is a forum for surgical complications - I was wondering if any of you had any post op problems with Dr. Aceves, if so what kind and how did you solve the problems?Thanks....Mo
I did. But it wasn't due to my surgeon (same as yours) or my surgery type. I was really sick from the band and waited too long to get a revision to a sleeve. Dr. Aceves kept me in the hospital 1.5 days longer than expected and no, he didn't charge me for the extra hospital time or extra meds/treatments, etc.
You are in good hands, honest. ;o)

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.
