anyone experienced this after lap RNY?  I am almost three years out and recently had this problem...it is where the small bowel telescopes in on itself...had it surgically repaired this past week.

what are the chances of reoccurance?

Diane,

i just had surgery last friday(may 7) for what my dr thought was an internal hernia.  turns out it was intussuseption & adhesions.  really scary.  not sure about chances of reoccurance, and why/how did it happen?  i am 2 years post lap RNY.  still doing research on this.  my mother in law found an article on intussuseption and open RNY.  here is the link if you want to read it.

http://www.asbs.org/html/pdf/soard_article_080606.pdfare you still having problems with stomach pains after surgery?  i am, dr told me probably muscle spasms.  i'll keep in touch, wish you speedy recovery.

thanks for the info, Penny; sorry you had to go through this, too.

i did have a bit of pain for a week or so after surgery, but am fine now.  but it seems like i have more 'gurgling' and noise in my gut that I used to; or maybe I am just super sensitive to everything now...hard to say.

my doc said they really don't know why this happens, it just does sometimes.  he said if it becomes a chronic problem then a revision might be necessary.

keep in touch, and I wish you well!
