Weight Loss Related?

Hi, I had Lap RNY in July of 2004 with relatively minor issues. I have been having off and on lower back pain since I gave birth last Feb.  It has recently increased and I went to see my PCP concerning the issue. He did an exam and thought it was spasms and prescribed muscle relaxers. The pain is not going away. I have also noticed bowel movement changes, they are becaome much smaller and harder no matter how much fiber/water I intake. Could these be related to an obstruction?  Most obstructions I read about on the board seem to have higher abdominal/stomach pain. My pain is very low back/tailbone area. Any ideas?

Let your PCP know that the muscle relaxers are not working. Did you have a vaginal birth? Did you have an epidural? Sometimes, with vaginal birth the tailbone can be broken and takes time to heal.
I know that for several months I had a lot of tailbone pain after my WLS I think due to the weight loss. It seemed no matter where I sat my tailbone hurt! My BM's also changed. They were thinner, lighter in color and I did have some constipation issues at times. However, I think this is also something you should let your doc know about if it concerns you. I was glad to know that I had a colonoscopy just a very short time prior to WLS as the change in BMs was a bit concerning to me, and I would have called the doctor if I had not of just been checked.
