Leakage?

Hello all,

I had surgery 12/15/2004 and it was very successful.  I haven't had any problems since then, until now.  I have had a persistant burning/pain for quite a while.  Friday it was more than I could take.  I thought maybe I had bowel blockage.  I went to the urgent care and they immedately transported me to the emergency room.  They thought it was my appendix.  After a catscan the doctor said there was nothing wrong with me and to go home.  On my way home from work yesterday I get a call from the emergency room.  A nurse has called to tell me that they reviewed my catscan and I have a leak from my pouch into my old stomache and I need to call my pcp.  I called my pcp and her nurse called to tell me they submitted a referall.  My surgeon retired so I no longer see anyone for my rny.  How serious is this and how is it usually fixed?  I know you are not all doctors but you are a very knowledgable bunch.   Any insight would be very helpful as I feel in the dark about all of this.  Thanks!

Please get to a new Surgeon.  A leak from the new pouch to old stomach actually sounds like a marginal ulcer.  I would definitely find a new surgeon ASAP, as this is nothing to fool with.

How did the situation work out for you? My daughter just had the same trouble after four years post op and had to have it surgically fixed. Pretty weird after so many years for both of you?
