Blind Loop Syndrome

My latest enteroclysis showed I have blind loop syndrome.  I don't have my follow up until next month.  So I don't know what it is or what the treatment plan will be.

I am 7 years post op from a roux en y.  I have had complications from day one and have only been pain free six months out of the whole 7 years.  I've had 2 bowel leaks, 2 obstructions, 25+ endoscopies, 4 colonoscopies, and a total of 7 surgeries including my roux.  All of them within a 18 month period.  I have also had numerous ulcers.

I'm trying to research the diagnosis.  I  was wondering if anyone else has had this or knows of anyone that does?  Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephanie Everman

it was usually found with the old JIB surgery. Standard RNY doesn't really have a blind loop. Everything goes somewhere, so I'm kinda wondering.

Go to www.asmbs.org and find the history of WLS. you should be able to find out that was one of the reasons they stopped doing the JIB, but there might be some helpful stuff there for you.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
