soreness on the left side...
Do you still have your gall bladder? If so, you may want to get that checked. You may have developed gall stones. I had my gall bladder removed prior to surgery, but it sounds like the same thing and I know of several people who had to get their gall bladder removed after surgery due to gall stones. The doctor told me when you lose alot of weight at one time, it can cause you to get gall stones.
I too have been having terrible pain on my left side, for the last year. I have just found out the cause and the fix for it. This site gives a good explanation of my problem www.endonurse.com/hotnews/4ah1413038.html
Not sure if this is the cause of yours, but it's something that I'd never heard of before yesterday when a surgeon told me about it.
Hope you find the cause of yours.

I have experienced left side pain over the new stomach area and it migrates towards the right. I feel full and bloated and then the hurt begins. Had my gallbladder removed last week and the pain is back. Possible internal hernia or bowel obstruction was what the Dr. told me this morning.

That sound much like the internal hernia pain that I had....it prevents the gas from passing through, I think, and therefore pain! When the hernia gets reduced, the pain subsides as everything is able to move through. I found laying a certain way could aid this at times...sometimes on my back and sometimes on my right side. I did have two internal hernias, though, so I guess it was dependent on which one was acting up! I eventually developed a small bowel obstruction. The same type of pain only, unbelievably worse, vomiting and absolutely no relief...but then I was in so much pain I could not be still!
