Band Slipped Upward

Has anyone had their band slipped upward to their esophagus?  I just had an endoscopy last Thursday and the doctor told me that is what happened.  I also had an barium swallow the week before and that doctor told me he couldn't see a band around my stomach!  I called my bariatric surgeon on Friday and they want me to have yet another barium swallow on Monday.  Then I see the bariatric surgeon on Thursday.  Not sure what will happen next, Thursday can't get here fast enough.

I am shocked they are having you wait at all.  They will probably do a complete unfill, put you on liquids and see if it goes back where it belongs.  If not they may have to replace the band or remove it.

Thanks for your reply.  I went yesterday for another barium swallow.  I will NEVER go to local doctors again.  Within two minutes the dr doing the swallow said band is in the right place, angled perfectly, no dilation, you are just tight.......

Still frustrated that two others doctors told me I had a problem!!!!  But learned a valuable lesson that most general doctors know nothing about banding and that I will need to find a primary care in the same hospital as my surgeon!
