I am planning to have the VSG procedure but trying to find post about possible complications. I can't seem to find any post in this forum.

Does VSG just have way less complication? I honestly rarely rear about anyone having complications with ther VSG procedure.

Anyone with a band of bypass wish they had the VSG instead.

After mucho research on the whole weight loss surgery issue, I can tell you that this is probably the best one with the least amount of any complications.  I am now 2 weeks out and doing well.  What convinced me though was when I specifically asked several weight loss doctors what surgery they recommended for me, ALL said the VSG.

So, I went to Mexico, had it done, and am now just trying to drink my water and get through my steps to weight loss.

The lack of complications with the VSG really made my decision for me.  Every where I turned there were people getting the band removed, or having a revision done, and the RNY just made me nervous.

So, I think the reason you can't find alot of complications out there with VSG is that there just aren't any.  I am sure someone somewhere had a leak, but being that there are generally 3 separate tests before you ever leave the hospital, it would be easily and immediately corrected.  The death rate is less than .25 of a percent, which is what most surgeries for anything would fall into.  It is a very safe procedure.

Good Luck

I had the VSG no complications I can still enjoy sugar too... lost 200 lbs in a year wouldn't have changed a thing
