Hi Debbie, sorry to hear of your sister's issues.  I had the RNY 6 years ago and was in the hospital 2 years ago with malnutritian, then again 2 months ago with TPN continued for 3 weeks at home.  Its starting up again and the surgeon is suggestion reversal.  I have not had it yet, as I'm not willing to give in  yet.  I don't know where you are located, but my surgeon is outstanding with experience in RNY reversals.  Dr. Fang at the Bridges Center through St. Lukes, Phoenix.

For the right surgeon, it might be worth the trip if not in Arizona.

Hope this helps, Tina

Does anyone know of an excellent surgeon who does reversals in Ohio? I had RNY 10 years ago and I am tired of always feeling nauseated, pain in left upper quad and vitamin, iron deficiencies. Does the reversal fix the deficiencies? What are the complications of the reversal? I wish I never had this done. I had to gain 20# to meet the criteria. When the surgeon was questioned about complications she told me I will just need to take a vitamin a day. Never told about all the other feelings.... I feel I was mislead.... did do research before hand and never really came across much complications. Now I want to go back to "normal" I am willing to go thru surgery again (not fun) to be pain free and absorb nutrients like I should. Can anyone out there help me find a fantastic surgeon in Ohio? Thamks! Lisa

Everything just seems so terrible to me i mean i wanna eat and i cant, im still on the 1 oz diet where i can only eat a small variety of things. Plus i can find any protein that doesnt taste like crap and i cant find a way to get the actigal down without throwing up. I really feel like i ruined my life but i wanted the weight off so bad i felt like this is what i had to do. Can someone please help me i feel like im losing my mind!  Folks,
Is it possible for us to gather a list of doctors who can reverse gastric bypass?  Who are the pioneers?  Who have the best success?  Facilities to avoid?  My colleague is really suffering after gastric bypass and after some years of trying to "make it work" has had enough.  So the question is: if you could go to any surgeon at any facility in the world to get a reversal, who would it be?

Hi, Lauren. My name is Maureen and I had RNY 4 weeks ago. I too have been having the feelings you described. Have youhad the reversal? If not have things gotten better? I feel like I ruined my life by doing this and that there were so many behind me that I didnt want to let them down. I never thought about myself until it was to late, and now I want to take it all back. I read about all the people with complications and I get scared. It sounds like the reversal is getting more and more popular. Please feel free to contact me and we can talk sometime.

Lauren,

how are you doing now did you have it reversed? I am 2 weeks out and feel like I made the biggest mistake of my life. I have two small kids and while I went into this thinking being skinny would give me more time with them, I now see all the complications that could end up leaving them without me very quickly. I tried to research but it seems like I couldn't find anything on these seriouse complication/side effects before my surgery. I honestly felt like backing out a week before my surgery but had so many people tell me I was just scared, so I didn't want to let them down. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and hope you are well.

I am in the hospital at BGH as we speak. I also want to reverse my bypass, have been sick with pain, nausea, dry heaves. Been in the hospital for Malnutrition, have a G-Tube now and also a PICC for fluid. Does anyone know of any surgeons that preform this surgery in Western NY. Dr. Alan Posner was the surgeon who gave me the bypass. Great doctor, but not sure if he knows how to reverse it or if I would be a first for him.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but I read your post and just wanted to ask if you had the reversal completed and how hard was it to get it approved?  I only had my surgery completed for about 4 weeks now, but everyday I am miserable and feel like I made the worst decision of my life because I am always sick.  If you had the reversal already was there any complications with it, are you feeling better now that you had it done?  Any information would be great because living like this is not the way to live life.
