Exploratory surgery - constant pain gone

I finally went in for my exploratory surgery for severe abdominal pain. It was constant burning and felt like my insides were being eaten away. I also had sharp pains on both the left and right sides. Well, my surgery was on Wednesday and it was done Laproscopically and same day surgery - thank goodness.
He found that where the Intestines were joined together (jejunum) from the RNY back in October, there were severe adhesions and were actually atatched to my abdominal wall causing my intestines to kink up. Luckily, it didn't cause a complete blockage but things weren't getting through completely causing severe pain and bloating.
The burning, eating away pain is completely gone. I still feel pain after I eat and have been vomitting after eating. I got back to the surgeon on Tuesday, June 2nd.
There is one thing he didn't do while operating that I though he was going to do = put a GT into the remnant stomach so he could scope it at a later date to check for ulcers or other problems. He was hoping that the problems he did find would correct all my pain. What he did do is, mark my stomach and tack it up, so that I can go in and have the tube done as an outpatient by a radiologist with local anesthesia and a little sedation. If I continue to have trouble eating, he will do put the tube in and we do the rest of the tests.

I take go to pain management for herniated discs in my spine and fibromyalgia. I wear the Duragesic Patch (fentanyl) and take Percocet as needed. I had the surgery because of that eating away pain and it went away. I would definitely call your surgeon. My pain started at the 2 1/2 months out and lasted 4 more months until I finally had the exploratory surgery. Please don't wait as long as I did.
Thanks for the advise. I will definitely contact my Dr. I see him on friday anyway. The last time I asked him for some pain meds he told he didn't want to give me any more meds b/c he didn't want me to get addicted. I told him that I had been taking vicodin for years and it does nothing for me. I can't live in pain like this....
My pain meds weren't given to me by my surgeon. I go to pain management for other pain issues. When it came to controlling my pain after both my surgeries, I had to get pain meds from pain management since my surgeon would only give me Vicoden which isn't strong enough for me. My pain management doctor gave me liquid morphine after the Gastric bypass and dilaudid after the exploratory surgery. Giving me vicoden is rediculous since I am on Perocet daily for my back. You may want to see a pain management specialist.
