Nausea 24/7; 6 months post-op

I am constantly nauseous and I am really struggling with calories/protein.

My average calories for the past 30-days (I track on daily plate) was 350 cals/day.

My surgeon's office saw me yesterday for my 6 months post-op visit and said that if I can't get my calories up within a month, they will scope me.  They want me at 500 calories/day.

If nothing shows with the endoscopy, I think they will say this is all in my head.

Eating is a chore and I literally force-feed myself.  Even drinking is a chore these days.

I feel miserable.

First, 500 cals a day is not enough for anyone, I have been there, and it is really damaging to your body.  Be proactive, and insist that they/you find a way to increase those calories!!  Do you have a Jamba Juice nearby?  Even if you can only drink a portion of one of them, it will help with the calories and easy to digest (just be careful about the dumping, not sure if that is an issue for you or not)  Hang in there!

I am having the same problem-going through counseling because it has caused depression and anxiety attacks.  I was desperate-still having problems coping.  The Dr. scoped me and did all kinds of blood work-can't find anything.

I spoke with a nurse today who had the surgery 10 yrs ago.  She went through the same thing-said to break the meals down to 6-8 small meals.  She also did a support group-there is more of us out there.   She said in the beginning alot of people get the nausea and some more than others-they don't know why.

I am going to try to break down my meals.--Trying eating meat before anything.  Sometime that was one of her small meal-just meat.   She also found she couldn't eat reheated foods.

Guess it will be trial and error.
