About a year after surgery i was helping a friend move and I got an intestinal hernia (BE CAREFUL about that people. it really sucks). I was in pain for weeks before I figured out what was going on. Day to day I was ok, except when i ate, I felt like there was a cement block in my stomach. My intestine was twisting and no food was getting through. They only way I felt better was to throw up or wait and eventually it would go down. My surgeon went in and fixed the problem and then everything was great. I no longer was losing weight after that. I figured I plateaued. Thinking back on it. I wonder if the fact that food was sitting the pouch trying to force its way down stretched my stomach. I always felt like I plateaued earlier then I was suppose to. I'm not angry about it. I lost 130lbs. I have another 50 or so I'm trying to lose on my own now.

I really just want to know if something like this happened to anyone else?

Tips for dealing with a stretched pouch?

any other advice! im a sponge!

I have had four hernias since my rny. Each one was bigger than the last.
So I am a guru about that little demon.
As for as you having stretched your pouch. Try this tip measure arund two cups of cottage cheese and see how much of that you can eat. If you can eat the whole 2 cups then you have indeed stretched it. And if you have they can do a procedure called a stomphyx that can reduce the stoma which is probably what you have stretched.
good luck
