Anyone have an unlocked band?

I have been banded seven months, have 9cc's in a 10 cc band with no restriction. A recent x-ray was taken and the Dr. says my band is unlocked. Anyone else have this?  What info can you give me about how a band becomes unlocked? How would I know if it was ever locked to begin with. My Dr. says the lock was changed on this new band (Allergan/Inamed). I read the change was made to make it possible to reuse the band if a revision was needed. If my Dr. goes in and locks my band how would I know it can't come unlocked again? If you have an experience with this, I'd love to hear from you. thanks!

My band was unlocked, which finally gave me the answer about why it never worked for me the way it did for all my band friends. I was banded in 2005 and the band was removed due to severe erosion in Oct 2007. I asked to see the band and it is clear that the locking mechanism had not been connected. It was one of the older 4cc Inamed bands and when I actually locked it, there was no way in could have come undone by itself. I am now waiting on a VSG in 3 weeks.
