Hey all, I had Lap RNY in 2000 and had no problems until 2004,  I went from 327 to 190 and I am currently holding at 220, which is okay for me as I am 6ft tall.  The problems started when I was six months pregnant, I had to have open surgery on my small bowel for a Peterson's Hernia, this wound was open for 2 months, was hospitalized for 3 weeks as a result and had behind the surgery Pancreatitis.  After delivering daughter 7 weeks early via c-section, a Large incisional hernia came about, and I had to have a mesh put in place.  After this surgery, I had another bout of Pancreatitis. For about 9 months everything was okay, then had another surgery to remove some adhesions, then 6 months later, they finally determine gall bladder is bad so its removed.  Then on Mother's Day of this year, I was again at the ER (they love me), where they determined the appendix needed to come out but also they thought I had enough obstruction, so I wake up to another huge 9 in*****ision, post op I do also get a non-mechanical obstruction, and they put a wonderful NG tube in my nose to my stomach.  At this point I am scared, 6 post op surgeries, I am very weak, I have no insurance anymore and no one will insure me at this point as a result of all my "preexisting" conditions. My original surgeon moved to Florida and will not see me without a $5000 deposit, plus we can't drive the 10 hours to Jacksonville.  My surgeon now thinks I might have ulcers as I am in pain all the time and wants to do a scope.  I am weak, have so many scares, exist on pain meds and in general don't know what to  do.

Anyone with advice?

Thanks

Anyway you can get a doctor to declare you disabled and get on SSD with Medicaid? I hope you get things taken care of soon!

Yeah I agree, I would apply for disability and medicaid asap - it can take up to 2 years for you to be accepted.  I hope your health improves!

Hello Dear,

I am Takisha and I  am 2 years out. I have had my bout of complications; mostly anxiety attacks and vitamin defiencies. I would like to tell you about a "Godsend" supplement called Nectavida!!! It is a liquid super supplement that replace everything we need in our body everyday. I am no longer anemic and my labs are normal for a change. The only this it  costs $50; but it is worth every penny. Please contact me if you have any questions because surgeons only get about 1 semester of nutrition studies and they do not know what we need. God made the herbs of the field ( check Genesis) and everything we need is right there at our reach.

You should check with your county of residence.  You should see if you can quailify for Medical Assistance, and then ask for a Waiver or  a Long Term Care Screening or consultation and apply for SSI.
