Had a exp lap done and they found a internal hernia and some ahesions causing problems up by my pouch. They said the fixed it all! Well now Im struggling with nausua... dry heves... get very nausuated when I eat or drink... Can eat like I did prior to surgery. I feel like a big baby. I cant function my daily living like this. When I get up and move around I start to fill like Im going to get sick so I lay down... UP and Down... same story. Keep thinking the next day is going to be better. I feel your pain Don't you have a PCP? What about calling Gastric By Pass surgeon and demanding that one of them give you something for you getting sick. Sometimes you have to use tough love with these Doctors. That's what I'm learning since I had WLS.  Not being able to eat and keep anything down is going to cause you in the long run problems. STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS Who is paying for those Doctors? You.  My story was different then yours but I would call my PCP when things did not seem right.  My gall bladder had stones and blocked my bile duct and the results was that my gall bladder got infected. I was not aware of this but the Doctors think I was like this for a year and half, maybe two years from what I told them.  I ended up in the ER and they put a tube into my Gall bladder to drain it. I carried this tube and bag around for almost two months. They also found out that my liver was affected and now is damaged. Going to see the liver Doctor 02/04/08. I finally had my gall bladder removed on 12/28/07 and came home feeling pretty darn good for about the first 2 weeks and suddenly I could not stand the gas/pain. I ended up not eating and laying in bed most of the time. My food would come back almost every time I ate.  Yesturday (friday) was the first day I started feeling better but I'm still very sore.  Tell them you want surgery ASAP!! that your in to much pain.  Best of luck hon and keep us posted Donna

I'll make mine short and sweet too! I really do feel your pain because six months out I had an internal Peterson's hernia and I felt like all the dics thought I was nuts.  I was sick for two months until they finally did a lap and found the hernia as well as a partial small bowel obstruction caused by the hernia and also took out my gallbladder. I will br very honest, I minded the second surgery more than the bypass. I had it repaired in August of last year and was still feeling crappy in November.  I do feel better now, but I do really try to watch what I eat, as far as the amount and what types of foods I eat, I still tend to get alot of bloating and gas pain depending on what I eat. My surgeon says it is rare for an internal hernia to happen again, but if you feel bad, don't give up!!!!  I had never heard of the internal hernia before but I already know a friend and a cousin who have both had this. I guess it's the price you pay. I had my surgey on 2-23-07 weighing in at 197lbs(5 ft tall) wearing size 18 jeans. Today I weigh 107lbs, wearing a size two and all co-morbidities are gone. I wish you health and happiness. Good Luck!

Thanks for your reply! I've been feeling better, but BOY oh BOY, things have changed.  I can't eat like I could before my internal hernia, I really have to watch what I eat, cause it seems like I get more gassy, faster and worse.  I've tried to narrow it down, but can't seem to find what causes it. I could it one thing one day and its good, the next day it makes me sick! I should be thankful, I wont have to worry about regaining, will I?  Ive maintained my weight of 145lbs  (give or take) down from 292lbs.  I'm very happy with that. Thanks again for your input! Well since I had to make a new membership since I had not post since the first year of my surgery, until then I had been to this site a lot.. My suggestion to you is that you find a surgeon to give you a second opinion. It won't be easy because most Doctors do not like to look at others mistakes or second guess. I know first hand this was my problem. I should have done that as soon as I felt as if my surgeon was not listening to me or like you said sick of me. This past March 30 2008 was 5 years since my surgery and I still have PTSD from all the problems and I will continue to have problems the rest of my life. In fact one of my reasons for starting back here is to get and give support. I'm having a very rough time now basically I am very malnourished because of the complications the normal protocol for maintaining your nutrition does not work for me.  Believe me I follow the book because I'm so afraid of doing anything to mess things up worse then what they are. Well this is my first post and my first advice get another opinion  and find a doctor that listens to his patients. best of luck gigi
