Has anyone, besides me, developed Ulcerative Colitis post GB surgury?  If so, what are you doing to control the symptoms and what mediaitons are you taking for it.  Your response would be greatly appreciate.

I've had UC prior to GB surgery.  I could have a flare up at any time but I've been in remission for a while now.   I took ASACOL which is an ASA for the COLon.  It is an anti-inflammatory designed specifically for the colon and doesn't release the medication until it gets into the large colon.  Your bypass should NOT affect the way this medication works.  I had to take 3 dosages of 2 pills per day and it took a few weeks to get the relief I needed along with dietary restrictions.  If I stay away from NSAIDS, I can stay in remission.  WHen it starts acting up though, I hit the NSAIDS b/c it helps the inflammation and is the only thing that helps the pain -- which is a catch-22 because then it causes the UC.  Crazy! How are you doing?  Have you started treatment?

I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side.  The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.
