Lap Band Infection Anyone?

I had one at 9 months anyone else?

Hello!  There have been a few, not many, on the Lapband forum that have had an infection of the lapband.  Have you posted over there?

Hi I posted on the lap band forum about my infection that went on for about three weeks.  Everyone was very supportive. I was fine at about 8 weeks post and all of a sudden I started to have pain in my port area when I moved or bended forwarded.  Sometimes the pain was bad I had to take pain medicine. Surgeon sent me to the ER and I had redness, swelling and my port area was hot to the touch. After a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics, having fevers up and down, and then home on antibiotics with no real improvement surgeon made decision to remove my port.  I had port removal surgery today.   I am very  discouraged as last Monday when I went into the hospital that was the day I was to have my first fill! To this day they can't understand why I got an infection since I was doing so well and had no post op issues.  I see you are nine months out?  How are you feeling and how are they treating your infection?  You can read my blog of you like...take care..

where did you have your surgery that got the infection my dad just had this done in mexico and now is back home, it is awful and infected and the doctors say the port needs to come out but no one here will take it out and he is in no shape to fly back to mexico I am trying to locate a doctor in the us that will help!
