Low blood pressure+dizzyness over a year post op (anyone else?)
I've ad mild to severe dizzy spells for over 4 months now. I talked to my doc and (after TONS of tests) we deturmined it's low blood pressure. My blood work, brain scan, and heart scan all came out good. There's VERY little I can do at this point to not be dizzy almost all the time.
So - before I schedule another follow up, to see if my doc can perscribe me someting to stop the world from spinning - I thought I'd check in on you folks. Anyone else get dizzy post op? I'm over a year out. I've lost a large amount of weight, in almost all aspects I'm a "success story" and yet there's the dizzyness, making my life complicated and downright annoying.
Anyone else? If you were what was it for you?

I'm not sure either. In my follow up consultation my doctor said that though she was pleased I wasn't "bad off" She has no idea how to help me, especially since anything she could percribe would have side effects that'd apparently make the spins seem fun by comparison. We're looking to my diet and calorie intake. So, next up! The dietition and my food journal!
I hope things turn out well for you- hey at least we look good, right?

After having a Baby 8 years ago c section and congestive heart failure 1 week later
I also started having dizzy spell attacks. Sometimes they would last for hours other times they laste a minute. I had the work up and was told I was fine. They eventully found that
I had Meniers Deseas. An inner ear imbalance. I noticed that one of my ears couldnt hear like the other. This is a classic symptom. I am fine now 8 years later. I just had VSG Surgery in August. I have noticed that I am a little dizzy at times. I need to get my blood drawn and check thoses levels. Look up meniers Disease online and see if you see any similarities.

In respnse to the inner ear:
That was actually the FIRST thing we checked. My ears, even a full CT scan of my brain (to make sure it wasn't a tumor) because my mom had gone through some ear related vertigo. So far, regulating my diet and making sure I get my vitimins and at least one bottle of propel (for the electrolights) makes the spins managable. If I don't get enough to eat in a day the spins are bad the next day.
I am not covered for a dietition in my insurance, so I've been working wit my doc to keep myself regulated. But, for me it's definatly the low blood pressure with diet as a major balencing influence, at least thus far. Thanks for all the feedback. I really appriciate it!

I was wondering if you have been checked for low blood sugar. I also have low blood pressure but it realy gets low when I become hypoglycimic and this has been a issue for some people. My first signs of hypoglycimia was dizziness and like you I had no idea what was going on. It wasn't untill my symptoms got worse that I was able to relate it to hypoglycimia. Good luck. Kim
I havn't ad my blood sugar tested yet. I'll be sure to ave that done along with anoter FULL blood work up. It's always better safe then sorry. Thanks for the support Kim.

I would definitely make sure everything in your diet is A OK as many dietary deficiencies can cause dizziness. Dehydration, low protein levels, low sodium levels, low sugar levels.....just to name a few. The nice thing about dietary deficiencies is that they can be easily corrected! Have you had lab work done? It would be interesting to know what your total protein level is, your pre-albumin level, etc
