Side and Back Pain

Hi, I am new - only 17 days post-op lap-band (and down 10lbs!). I did really well at first, but for the last 5 days I have had really bad left side pain. It's in the middle between my hip and belly button. Also, I'm having bad back pain on the left side also. The pain is not located directly over a lap incision. Also, my port is high, just below my breast bone. Anyone have any idea where the pain is comming from or how to get rid of it? It is the worst when I sit and standing is most comfortable. Laying down is uncomfortable too. I've been taking advil by request of the bariatric nurse. Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi there K, I can't really help you, but i noticed your post.  This board doen't get much activity, I wonder if folks know it exists.   However, you can post this concern on the Lapband board!  That is exactly what I would do.  Those people are pro's and can help you with very good advice.   Take care and I hope you get to feeling better!

Do you think it's a muscle? When i came home from the hospital after 3 wks in the hospital (complications) I spent the first night on the recliner and didnt put a pillow on my lower back and ended up hurting my back on the left side inbetween my ribs and hip bone.  I used a heating pad which would take the edge off but the only thing that really helped was a muscle relaxer (flexeril) because i kept having spasms. Took a little more than a week but it's feeling better now.
