Belching air 4 yrs. post op

I am 4 years post op and having some difficulty with belching.  It occurs constantly, sometimes for hours and sometimes it isn't even after eating food.  Has anyone else ever had this problem?  I wouldn't think that it had to do with how fast I eat, since it often occurs when I haven't even eaten recently.  I've tried Tums and Rolaids, thinking it might be heartburn, but that isn't helping.  Thanks a bunch! I had this problem for about 40 years prior to WLS surgery and still have it.  I must be swallowing air somehow but have not been able to figure out when or how.  I have no solution to suggest, sorry . . . .

I have had the burping also. Mine came after my VBG surgery 9/2003, alot of it whether I am eating, drinking or nothing. It is very annoying and I don't think I am swallowing alot of air either. Wish I knew what causes it also. Karen
