Hello...When is the best day during your menstrual cycle to have surgery?  I am going to have the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, and before surgery is scheduled I want to make sure it is the right time during my cycle, so I will have less problems...Thank you, Lee

I am really not sure about this either, I am having the DS on the 12th and everyone tells me it doesnt matter, because you are going to be put into a "cycle" again right after surgery due to the shock to your body, so just be prepared, I am bringing pads to the hospital and hotel just to be safe.

Hello... and thank you for the post...If I find out the answer I will make another post. Years ago, I read in a magazine that you should have a pap-smear, breast exam, and surgery on certain days of your cycle to promote optimal healing. Surgery is not done in isolation, and when trama invades the body the whole body works together to heal itself. Thanks for the info about the pads, I will pack them as well...Thanks Lee

This is very true.  I was never told that.  I started the morning after surgery.  I was 10 days early.  Scared me to death.  I was afraid the blood was coming from somewhere else.

I started mine the day before surgery in July.  Was no problem.
