two weeks post op from gb
Haven't posted here before....So here goes....I'm two weeks out from gastric bypass. The problem I'm having is I'm nauseated all the time.....What in the world can cause this.....It is annoying, you think that you could have some kind of soup and it just makes me sick at my stomach....I don't actually throw up put it's bad enough sometimes that I think I could if I thought about it long enough......HELP!!!!! The last time I weighed I had lost 22 lbs. I'm not sorry I had the surgery I just want this nauseating feeling to go away. One other bothersome thing I'm having is a really nasty taste in my mouth all the time.....anyone got a clue about that.......Thanks Jill
Hi Jill,
I just wanted to let you know my experience. I am about 13 months post op and clearly remember those first two months. I was so nauseated, I didn't want to eat anything, it was a struggle to keep myself hydrated. It does get better but it was a full two months before I started feeling like myself again. I lost about 40lbs those first two months. As for the bad taste in your mouth I was told that was when we are in ketosis. I guess it is your body breaking down and burning all the fat. It is gross I remember. At my 3 week post op appt I was told I could chew gum and that is what helped me with the bad taste and the nausea, just keeping something in my mouth helped.
Not sure if any of this helps, but just know you are not alone. Before you know it you will be feeling like your old self. Just keeping telling yourself each day you will get better.
Like I said I am 13 months out and down 115 lbs and feel like a new person.
Take Care and Good Luck,
