Aloha! Congrats on your weightloss!!! As far as your adhesions go, if they are severe enough, they can perform surgery to remove the larger ones or trim some of them so that they do not cause you pain/irriation.  With regards to having it done in tandem with a tummy tuck, if your insurance doesn't cover having a TT, then they most likely would only do the surgery for the ahesions.. In otherwords, very few docs would go in for lysis of adhesions and then perform a tummy tuck along with it. If they were do to so, they could get nailed for fraudulent billing.  If your insurance DOES cover TTs, then you may be able to have both procedures done at the same time. When I had my tummy tuck performed, I had a HUGE hernia along with some adhesions...which they fixed while they were in there. But the main reason for the surgery was the TT. I have friend who had a HUGE hernia and even though she wanted to have a TT done when they were fixing her hernia, she wasn't able to have it done because her insurance didn't approve the TT part of the surgery.  One way to try and help you go get the TT classified as medically necessary, have your bariatric surgeon write a letter to your insurance carrier indicating that the TT is medically necessary. That may help you with your ultimate goal of getting your TT.  The unfortunate thing is that the insurance companies will do almost anything they can do try and deny many of our claims for plastics and even WLS itself....the key is to appeal appeal  appeal! Hope this helps! Kathie in Hawaii
