Anyone been on a vent after surgery?

I was but they pulled it out that same day.. no biggie for me

I was for over a month, and in a coma. They ended up doing a tracheostomy. Why do you you ask?

I was also on a ventilator, as well as an induced coma, and a trach. Overall, I spent four months in four different facilities. I experienced three hypoxic/anoxic events due to oxygen deprivation, which resulted in brain damage that has caused fine motor skill deficits. My speech, hand/finger dexterity, and balance are greatly affected. My speech is the worse.

I had no comorbidities when I came out of surgery I was not breathing right, they lowered my oxygen and then had to almost call a crash cart, I have ptsd, I cant stop thinking abouut this and how it happened?I heard I almost died the next day, I dont get it, and I will never get the answers.

I was 8 days out and had septic shock. Died in the helicopter on the way to the other hospital. I also have PTSD from the experience. I have gotten copies of all of my medical records, that helped to fill in some of the blanks, and also have started to see a counselor. I was on the vent for 3 days.

I was also on a ventilator, as well as an induced coma for 12 days. They kept trying to get me off but i couldnt breath on my own.  I was also battling kidney failure at the same time so maybe that had something to do with it. Luckily i dont remember any of it, but my wife was by my side the whole time and it was really rough on her.
