She is off of the ventilator and almost fully awake now. The doctor says there are no more leaks and has even started feeding her through the g-tube. Things are beginning to look up.  :D

Oh, that's wonderful Matt!! I'm so happy to hear this, was hoping you would post an update today but understand you want to be by your sweetie's side first and foremost! Thanks for posting and please tell Alisha we are all praying for her and sending healing vibes to her. I know this isn't a ideal way to start her WLS journey, but hopefully the rough stuff is over with now..Hugs! -Sara

I am so happy for AlishaGail, and for you. I know you've been crazy with worry, and now it's good news. Soon she will be healthier and this will be a dim memory! We'll keep slinging some chickens or praying, maybe both! Best wishes for the future.
Happy To Be A.

While reading your posts it was like de ja vue for me. I'm glad things are looking up for you wife. I had a similar experience, except I was in a coma for 30 days too. Read my profile if you would like. I am doing very now, and I'm sure your wife will be too. You are both in my prayers, Lynne

Matt. Its been over a month now---how is your wife? I've read and prayed for her healing and progress, which she seems to be making. Keep us posted. You know the power of prayer on this message board and the main forum board can do wonders!!

She is doing a lot better now. Slowly but surely, things are moving forward. She is still suffering with nausea and pain, which seems very common, but she is up and walking around, talking, and they've even started her on some 'real' food.   I don't know how long it will be until she is out of the hospital, but I know she really wants to come home. Hopefully she will be making her own post pretty soon. -Matt

This is Lisha--hubby had been posting under my account.  This post almost made me cry (as so many things do now).    I am doing better.  To be honest, I remember NOTHING from the day of my first surgery to the day I woke up again from the medical sedation/ventilation a month later, which was last Friday.  I had a long string of nightmares while under sedation which were horribly realistic and still haunting me.  The docs are amazed at how fast I have healed since waking up and they did send me home this weekend.  I have home healthcare scheduled to help change dressings of my wound, which must be left open until it heals.  I am using a wound vac, and that's a terrible experience for me.  I must admit to dreading the dressing changes severely.   My husband has been wonderful--always by my side and giving me so much support and love.   I am still extremely weak and in many surprising ways.  I cannot sit up long to type much, so I'll be back on later.  Thank you for all your help and support to me and my husband.  *hugs*
