Dont give up, whatever you do. You have done really well in 5 months. Im out almost a year, and I have lost 110 pounds. For 2 of those months, 9th and 10th, I didnt lose a thing, played around with the same 5 pounds, lose it, gain it, lose it, gain it, and then whop,,, off came 10 pounds and holding,, so Im not complaining,, but,, I sort of went off the routine and figured I better get my rear in gear and behave. I have like 30 pounds to go til goal. Hang in there, everyone of us are different, and our bodies each handle this surgery different. Marie

Jessica, I hope you read this and I am not sure that I will be of any help, but  I too am at 5th month and I have not lost any weight for two and ahalf months. As of date I have lost 52 pounds. I go from 203 to 207 to 205 to 206 to 202 and so on... I am so frustrated. I have tried the plateau diet and nothing came out of it except more frustration.  I am going to make an appointment with my surgeon to find out what I am doing wrong. Please let me know if you found anything out about yourself.

Hello, thanks for responding... I actually did find some things out and the scale actually did move as of today, FINALLY! First let me say I think I played a part in the wackiness at first- when I was moving to my apt I ended up buying some breaded chicken patties, bread, english muffins, even some mozerella sticks! Yea these things aren't THAT bad and the amount I can consume is limited BUT they are all carbs! The bad ones! I detoxed myself for so long after the surgery then I was consumed by the addiction again and this made me CRAVE food all day long! I felt ravenous between my meals... and then the scale stopped! 232...240...238..237..239...234..ugh! So I saw my NP last week, I already started going back to basics and cutting out all the fun breaded foods and went back to the skinless chicken and fish, dairy, basically protein. She said to make sure my meals are 5 hours apart and to drink milk every day at 3pm, (between my lunch and dinner when I had craving problems) and this worked for me! I was satisfied with about 10oz of milk and was fine until dinner time. At night, my dinner is at 5 and I don't come home until 11:30 or so and I am starving! She said some lunch meat and cheese is a good snack before bed-protein! And...it worked! My cravings have quieted! I don't feel the need to graze... and I tried to be consistant and at least go to the gym 3-4 times this week... so after a little over a month I weighed in this morning about 5lbs lighter....thank jesus!! I really pay attention to the protein and started drinking about 2 green teas a say (which is suggested in the plateau buster directions) and I think this really awoke my body! I don't know if you had the same ravenous issues as me, this is what I think began to sabatoge my weight loss... it wasn't just my body chemistry. She did say this was normal at 6-7 months, for me it happened early... it's phase two and hunger returns but there are alot of things docs suggect to deal with it.. just reevaluate what your eating and your schedule... do your best to make it all protein and just your 3 meals a day... green tea helps too! I listed my update on my profile so have a look-see.. let me know if I can be of further help! Hang in there, and good luck!
