Replacing food in your life
Have you had a obsession with anything after your surgery?? It seems to me that almost everyone I have met who has had WLS, has developed a issue with something else in place of eating too much.I know I have, and I don't feel there is enough information given to us after our procedure to help combat this situation.Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this.Thanks.
I'm just depressed all the time. I feel like I'm going off the deepend. I mean alot has happened around my house here and there, but I've always been strong, and just don't seem to be able to keep everyone happy anymore. I'm getting kind of worried about myself and my strength. I can pray though. I haven't really had an obsession but if I do, I hope it's with prayer, cause I sure need some.
Sounds like you do too Hon, so I'll say some for you too.
Try to have a good day.

I have watched some of the popular shows, Oprah and DR Phil and they talk about how people trade their food addition for other things post gastric bypass. THe biggest additions are sex, spending money, and alcohol, smoking, drugs. There isn't much information availabie about this, but I'm sure they are working on it since WlS is so commom. I didn't think I had a food additction and low and behold when I couldn't have it anymore, I was deeply saddened. I even had to avoid the market for a few weeks post op because it was too stressful trying to remind myself what I could eat, vs what I wanted to eat.
When I went back to work post op, I wanted to throw away everything people were eating at work, epscially Soda. I work with soda junkies.
